Roof Repairs

A professional survey was carried out in May 206 to establish the condition of all parts of the church roof. Broken into eight distinct areas, a comprehensive plan is underway to prioritise those areas in urgent need of repair.

Areas 1,2, 3 and 8 (front of the north side and all of the south side) are in generally good condition and have an expected lifespan of around 50 years. The other areas 4 to 7 (the rear of the north side, around the dormers, vestry roof etc) are in need of repair or re-roofing within the next few years . There are a range of issues from failing battens, clay tiles breaking down, wooden and galvanised fixing pegs that are failing.
